Sorry, the link didn't work..

Was it actually an external wastegate or an actuator?? Why do you want to change it?

sounds like you want to control boost. You don't need an upgraded wastegate to do that. Also, an upgraded wastegate won't really help you do that. You need EM

You could do an external wastegate, but this is going to involve some custom fabrication. I haven't seen anything "bolt-on" for the WRX yet. You can also control when the wastegate opens, which will have an effect on the amount of boost that you get.

Wastegates can/do control boost somewhat, but they really aren't used to adjust the amount that you get. If you want the ability to do that, do as stated above and get some engine management.

Stacy, you just want someone to do an external dump. If you can persuade someone to do it I want to see/ hear it.

If your going to be doing a TBE and your worried about the dreadful 2.5l boost creep, all you need to do is get some EM and port your stock wastegate and you won't have to worry about it

That all depends on the brands and how far you want to go. The port job is very simple and shouldn't cost you much, you could do it yourself but if you don't know what you doing your better off letting a professional handle it.

That's an area I wouldn't want to attempt on my own. If it was me I would remove the turbo and send it somewhere like Deadbolt or Slowboy and have them port it for me, I could probably do it myself but I don't like taking that risk, especially with the turbo. Another way you can help fix the creep issue is by putting a catted dp on with the EM, that has been know to work also.

I have a catted DP and have pretty bad boost creep on my 06...but I'm stuck with it because my AP is screwed and Cobb won't return my emails...

Guess it is time for a turbo swap and to port the WG on the new turbo...
