2006 Wrx stage 2 question

I recently bought a Cobb access port or my 06 Wrx. It's stage 1 right now and will be goin to stage 2 soon. I'm gonna buy a invidia carted downpipe an a Borla catback to mate up with this. My question is will the generic stage 2 flash be okay for this or should I get an open source tune. My only other performance mod is a k and n drop in air filter. So is the Cobb stage 2 flash good or should I get a tune from tuning alliance.

The Cobb one will be fine. Granted you'd see better performance out of a custom tune, but it's not needed.

A good custom tune will be make more power, drive better than, and be safer than Cobb's OTS maps.

I think what I'm gonna do is start with the Cobb ots stage 2 and once I have that all together get a custom tune from tuning alliance

ya a custom tune will be better . i rode around for a while with an ots map stage two with cobb and now since im street tuned with the cobb,shes so much faster and just feels more stable.

I drove my 07 WRX with an off-the-shelf Cobb Stage 2, 93 Octane map for close to three years and ~75k miles (11,200 - 86,200), so it's possible to drive around for a while with a generic map. However, if I had known it would be that long before I added more parts, I would have gotten a protune immediately because of the smoothness/safety/optimization factors. If you are able to collect/add more parts in the near future, you might want to hold off on the protune until immediately after you install everything. Without going too crazy beyond the typical "Stage 2" power setup (downpipe and cat back), you could also consider getting a TMIC, fuel pump, intake, headers, up pipe (the least necessary part for you since yours is already catless), and/or a 3 port ebcs.

Side note: if you haven't already done the snorkus delete mod (GP Moto elbow or d.i.y. job), you might want to look in to that one

Yeah I looked up the kit looks very easy to do. I've been looking for some bbs replicas I found a set but there 18x8.5 with 42+ offset and I'm lowered about an inch the whole way around ima gonna run 225-40-18 but am not sure of they will rub or not. I couldnt find the kit any were for sale tho? So if anyone knows of a site selling nice bbs replicas that are 17x8 or 18x8. Let me know and also that snorkel delete kit

Where is tuning alliance? Ever wondering over to york? CBRD is a good tuning shop. Right off Rt 30 for right now....but, they're getting a bigger shop up an running for the future. Chad is a good guy.

Anybody have any experience with helix catted downpipe going to pick one up Sunday for 180. Finally stage 2

Helix is an older company that has been out for a while. Do you know how many miles are on that downpipe? Unlike a catless downpipe, if you have a catalytic converter, previous use is extremely important to know.

I have a 2006 Imprezza WRX, and need a new turbo. Just want a stock replacement. Have a big downpipe. My current unit is a VF34. Any suggestions? Have found an Ebay listing that says they have a rebuilt VF39 for $779.
