2006 wrx set-up!

Hey everyone this is my scheduled set-up as of Monday next week.

Turbo XS 4" catless downpipe and race pipe
JNA cat-back stealth exhaust
Cobb Accessport
Pro Tune from Performance Alley in Kansas City

Any ideas of my awhp? Or suggestions?

Thanks very much,

J

If that's all you have on it, you will be in the area of 215-220whp

1-Look into getting a 3port bcs (If the tuner is ok with them).
2-Maybe a SRI/CAI?
3-STi or upgraded TMIC
4-Change your plugs b4 you go
5-Change your oil b4 you go

With those you could net 15-20whp

This on a Mustang Dyno?

Let us know how it turns out.

Oil was changed under 200 miles ago with full synthetic, i should run to autozone and grab some plugs, any suggestions?

I've been using NGK Iridiums, stock heat range (NGK LFR6AIX-11).

brfatal 02-25-2012 09:30 AM

Coppers are the best but have to be changed a whole lot more often. You're probably best off getting stock Platinums.

man show 02-25-2012 10:56 PM

True, Coppers are the best, but I'd hate to have to change my spark plugs every other oil change or so. Iridiums are slightly more durable than Platinums. Anyway, the spark plug debate is similar to the oil debate. Talk to your tuner and see what they recommend.

So i finally had a chance to get my car (2 hour drive). I do not have a pdf to upload right now, but i have a print out of my numbers. 219 max horsepower, 265 max torque.

Thoughts?

Right about where you should be. Nice torque. How does it feel when you drive it?

Nice call Paul! Nailed that one :)

brfatal 05-04-2012 06:50 AM

Nice numbers for 91 octane. Higher than I would have thought.

joshbm1 05-07-2012 04:08 PM

The car feels a bit better, i have not opened it up completely yet. Yet, it is not as slugglish between 1.5-3 rpm's. I just wish Kansas sold 93 octane fuel so i could squeeze more power out of it...

So i have a guy with a 2005 sti intercooler. Is $260.00 a fair price? Also, will this bolt up to my 2006 engine?

pzr2874 05-10-2012 05:50 AM

That's a fair price if it has the y-pipe.

But it won't bolt right up. See this thread.

Depends on condition also. Much cheaper than new tho.

joshbm1 05-10-2012 11:15 PM

Here is a link to the intercooler pics. It doesnt look in the best of shape, but i think i've seen worse.

What do you think?
