2006 Wrx Performance Exhaust Upgrade

Just bought a used 2006 Wrx and I'm looking to begin upgrading. Unfortunately I'm not very informed on the matter.

The car is already fitted with an STi intercoler, and what appears to be an STi exhaust tip(Pictures on Flikr, Username: Ericust). I'm looking to upgrade anything that needs to between the tip and the engine for power increase, as well as a nice low drone( I don't want anything super loud/honda sounding).

The question I have is what parts need to be replaced to accomplish my goals? I do not know much but my only guesses are the downpipe(up-pipe: ive seen both mentioned on here?) and the midpipe.

I am completely uninformed and lost! If anyone with knowledge on the matter could lend some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris M

Great tuning info: Unabomber's Manifesto - NASIOC
You also need to look into some type of EM (Enging Management i.e Cobb AP, or Opensource) The 06+ HAVE to be tuned when doing a full (TBE=Turbo Back Exhaust) or DP (Down Pipe).
Try searching as much as you can, then if you are still uncertain feel free to ask away or even PM people about their setups and experiences.
