06 wrx w/cobb stage 1?

Hi guys and gals, I'm pretty new to the whole wrx thing (just bought the car last week lol). Anyways the car currently has a cobb ap stage 1 tune on it, which is nice, but the previous owner had the cobb ap stolen out of the car before I had purchased it . I was just wondering if I bought a dp and wanted to go to stage 2 with a new cobb ap, would I be able to go ahead and do it, or would I have to take the car to subaru and have the computer reflashed to stock first? Thanks for any and all replies is advance.

You need the ECU flashed back to stock first. COBB may be able to help but the dealer will be easier for sure.

....could flash it back to stock with a Tactrix cable and proper hex file. That's what I did when my first "tuner" gave me a map from a different year vehicle and it threw off my ECU completely.

For sure. Thats what I thought anyway. I'll probably just take it to the dealership, they're closer than any subaru tuners in my area.
