06 wrx upgrade???

I have an 06 wrx with A turbo xs downpipe with an apexi cat back a Cobb access port and an aem cold air intake, I'm wondering and hoping someone could tell me what kind of advantage an aftermarket up pipe would give me at this point as far as horse power, sound, turbo spooling etc.... Would like my exhaust to carry a little deeper of a tone not sure if that would do the trick. But aside from that wondering what my next "affordable" upgrade could be to get a couple more ponies outa this thing. I appreciate any suggestions and or constructive critisism. Thanks in advance.

An up pipe will get you next to nothing. Yours is already catless and getting an up pipe for the earlier years was more of a safety modification. If you are running just the OTS map from Cobb an actual tune would net you more power than what you are getting right now. Aside from that the next step is pretty much a turbo upgrade. You could also throw a larger TMIC into that and get retuned for some more power. Plus you're in Oregon... Go to Surgeline in the Portland area to get tuned, long drive but worth it.

True the 06+ WRXs don't have a cat in the UPP. However, a good aftermarket uppipe (i.e. Grimmspeed, Perrin) still has some gains in power due to the increased internal diameter of the pipe and better flow. IMHO, since it is not a safety issue upgrade the UPP when/if you upgrade the turbo.

Im sorry you are right c2bcoolwrx, shouldnt have been more clear/specific. Its just not something that should be changed to change. I had my up pipe replaced, not really for the power but because my stocker got jacked up removing it. But if the turbo swap comes look into an above mentioned up pipe.
