06 wrx suspension/coil overs
getting some new coil-overs but im not too sure what i want to get.. just have a few upgrades right now.. TBE cobb pully etc stage 2 stuff
i want to get some good coil-overs. but spend right around 1000.. and suggestions?
also going to get front and rear swaybars.
so just some advice would be nice.
any good websides? horsepowerfreaks seems like they got alot of stuff... jsc speed isnt bad either.
My first question would be:
What do you plan to do with your car? Street, Drag, Autocross, Club racing?
If your answer is street/daily use, I'd stay away from single-adjustment/entry-level coilovers and attack other areas of your suspension/chassis. Get swaybars, endlinks, ALK, subframe lock bolts, subframe braces, differential bushings, subframe bushings, camber bolts, good rate lowering springs paired with the appropriate shocks could be better than coilovers, Roll center kit (once you lower your car, steering rack bushing kit and even Engine and tranny mounts...
The other aspect of your car that I'd explore is the brake department. I'd suggest you to try and balance things up, maybe get some of the essential suspension/chassis stuff and get some of the essential brake system stuff (braided lines, better pads & fluid)...
whatever you do plan things up and stay away from cheap coilover kits that have all sorts of adjustment options. If something seems to be too good to be true, most of the time it is...
I agree with Fuapiti, there arent any "good" coilovers for a grand. And I also agree with getting things to round out the car. I kind of wish I would have. I have more than enough power (for the time being), but my suspension and brakes are all stock. But Im upgrading rotors, brakes, lines, transmission and sway bars within the next few months. Check out rallitek.com for some nice sway bars, or whitline, or hotchkis also.
awesome yeah man thats kind of what i was looking for. im not going to do anything crazy with my car right now (driving wise) just basically want to even things out. but i dont want too much of an agressive drop just something that feels nice on the road but handles better. just need new shocks soon so no coilovers. springs and good shocks from sears or what have you.
thanks for the input!
