Wrx--> impreza

I totalled my 03 wrx but the interior is still good. I have a chance to get a 98 impreza. Would the dash and interior bolt up to the 98? I don't want to buy the car back from the insurance company if the dash won't fit. Then I'll be stuck with a totalled car. Good thing, they only want $1500 for it.

It can be done, if you want to keep the HVAC you'll have to modify the firewall. There will be a gap where the a pillar comes and meets the dash and windshield. Will you be doing a motor swap of any kind? To get your dash and controls to work you might have to do some splicing.

What's your reason gor this, a 98 and an 03 are two different beasts
Will not fit at all without modification.

The reason is because I can get a 98 cheaply and my totaled wrx also cheaply. So take the interior from wrx and put in 98. And i would like to engine swap the wrx if It's still good. It should be, I rolled it and there's no impact on the front. No air bags deployed.

If you can recover the motor, harness, and dash that is honestly the most pain free swap you can do, but a swap is a swap, it isn't a weekend project unless you've done multiple ones. What is 'cheap' for the RS? What amount of insurance check will you get? You'd be better off combining your funds and getting another WRX. Just my .02¢

^ 100% agree, unless your looking for a project and don't really need your car right away.
You can find an 02 at reasonable prices

I paid $10300 for the wrx. I'm getting $11500 for it from insurance. I had a $7000 loan so i will receive $4000 from insurance. The RS is $1800 with 80000 miles. It's $1150 to buy back the wrx. So i would have $1000 extra after everything. Like I said, motor "should" be ok. It was not damaged but did leak oil while flipped for about an hour before tow truck flipped it upright. All accessories still work. Didn't try to turn the motor.

Is spending the 11,5 on another car while still making payments an option, maybe buying your old car back for parts? Probably not huh. Man, I feel for ya.
Are you ok from the accident? All fingers and toes still attached?

Well i only had the $7000 loan and put $4000 cash. Haven't decided if i want something cheap that i can just pay cash or get something and make payments...

And yeah I'm ok. Minor cuts. When I get to the computer I'll add some pics. Only had it 4 hours from time of cash to time of hospital..
