Is your car a TR or normal wrx? I think on my TR the shift boot trim just needed to be wiggled and you pull back on it. I'm pretty sure it's just clipped in there. I can't comment on the normal wrx and the STI has little screws holding the trim piece down. It might just looks like it has screws and the screws are faux. I haven't bothered trying to take it off yet.

The shifter boot on my WRX just lifts rite out just like the TR. It pops right off, pretty easily. Farther than that I dont know because I havent messed with it.

AkSoul is an unknown
Baller, No factory sub, I have an amp under my passenger seat. It just sits there. This was going to be an temporary thing. I had plans to mount it to some thing but it hasn't moved at all and it comes out easily for tuning. I will mount it when i have time. I just rolled over 60k so my last weekends have been maintinence.

goodness that was all kinds of easy. all i did was unscrew my shifter took out the assembly got the 2 bottom screws than the 6 holding it in places and bam! i was done. just had to switch the harnesses cause one was for the protegay and the other for the wrx. i put it back together but i lost one of those bottom screws. o well, ill just say it was for "weight reduction" lol. cars sounds mean. both with the radio on and off
