Upgraded Speakers w/AMP

I just finished upgrading the speakers and adding an amp to the stock face and it sounds amazing.

Front:
Infinity Kappa 60.9CS 6.5" Components w/Crossovers

Rear:
Infinity Reference 4" 4022i 2-way

Amp:
Kenwood KAC-8403 4-Channel

Used the KartBoy Spacers for in the front, put some dynomat in the door panels front and rear around the speaker area, and used the Monster 8 gage amp installation kit & 4-channel RCAs. The tweeters were a PIA, as they are much bigger than the stock ones. Mounted the AMP under the front-passenger seat. Besides the tweeters, everything went in smoothly in about 4.5 hours w/breaks & a lot of beer (hot as hell today).

$390 for the speakers and amp w/shipping. Then all the incidentals, wiring, spacers, dynomat...so
about $475 total all said and done, but I got some of the wiring and dynomat from a friend for free.

Well worth the money...the stock speakers were crap.

I am in the process of switching over all my speakers right now. I also just put in the Infinity Kappa 60.9CS 6.5" Components w/Crossovers in the front. (Nice Choice!!) Wish I would have known about the spacers before I took the door apart!! Anyway, I was wondering where you ran the power wire, speaker wire, remote turn on, and RCAs for you amp? Where did you mount the amp? Also, how do you like the new 4" speakers? I am actually thinking about cutting into the rear deck and putting some 6.5's or 6x9's back there.

I'm runnin MB quart premium components up front, the quality is great the sound is amazing. They are a little deep though, with some nylon spacers i was able to get everything in stock locations. My 400W amp is undereath the passenger seat with the crossovers, all wires are run through the center console, i'm happy with the way it turned out.

I really like MB Quarts products. I only had a 15" sub and amp in my Cougar, but it was redtarded loud and sonuded nice also. I have looked into those speakers though for the fronts as well.

not sure if you guys have heard of zapco but they are the shiznit. the amps NEVER heat up and the speakers are great. they are a little more than alpine price wise. i currently have a zapco ag1000 for my two 12"image dynamic subs that handle 550 peak watts and zapco components in the doors that run off a zapco ag350. the mids and highs sound clean and crisp and the bass hits deep and hard. i just wish i had more air space in the trunk.

i love my sound.

Kicker coaxial speakers with component tweeters in all four doors (my doors were too shallow for components all around).
300/4 JL AMP running 75 watts to each door.
12" JL w3 subwoofer in a ported box.
500/1 JL AMP running the full 500 watts to the sub.
Alpine CDA-9885 headunit with iPod hookup.
Dynomat all over my trunk and in my front driver and passenger doors.

I have a friend who runs a sound install shop, so he gets my stuff done for me and gives me gigantic discounts on everything.
