UnMarrying a Cobb Accessport

I am very close to trading in my 06 wrx with a vf 39, downpipe, catback, cobb ap v2 protune. The dealership is not interested in paying me out much for my mods. So my question is if i unmarry the cobb, will the car run as a wrx? will it breakdown? will it buck and knock? Can i do this and salvage the Cobb ap and then sell that off separately?

If you leave that downpipe on there it will mess things up without a tune, I would asume some knocking, but I'm not that informed. Also I bet the vf 39 on there would not be good with a stock tune. Again I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work, hopefully the other guys can help you out more...If I were you I'd take it back to all stock, and sell all the aftermarket parts seperately. And yes, if you unmarry your cobb accessport you can sell it for about $400-$500. Is your downpipe catted? What brand? If so i would possibly be interested in it...

Exactly what Airplnmdls said. Dealerships usually look down on car moding and do not give much for them. You car is worth more stock and then you'd get more money out of selling your after market parts seperate.

Whats the hp and spec of that vf 39? you can pm me the details if you would, I'd appriciate it.

Good luck with the re-stock build and trade.(if thats what you go to do.)

That turbo won't work with your car unless you change your TMIC set-up and possibly other stuff. Your layout is the LGT layout and the VF39 is the 02-07 WRX/04-10 STI layout. Read: two completely different layouts and they're not compatiable unless you change more than the turbo.

The link below has a excellant picture of how different the two turbos are.
2007 STI parts for 2008 WRX

This pic is from that link. Turbo on the left is a TD04 from an 08 WRX.One on the right is a turbo that would normally fit 02-07WRX's and 04-08 STi's

I'd say your probably better off just trying to sell it privately than taking it to the dealer...you'd get more money anyways...ebay and craigslist is awesome...
Or if you really want to go the dealer route then I bet you could trade your aftermarket parts for stockers and some cash...not to thread c**p but again I have the stock exhaust from my 07 if that would help...

Well here's what the figures look like, my 06 subby has 60k and 12,378 left on the loan and I'm looking at a 2001 jeep cherokee sport w/ 40k miles listed at 8888. They started out with trade in value at 11,000 and jeep at 8888. They offered to raise the trade in to what I owe, 12,378, and drop the jeep from 8888 to 7999. So its a swing of over 2000. I can pretty much afford the jeep up front in cash. I'm debating if I should sell my car privately but then again its more work and hassle, and I could have 2 cars for a while and have to keep making payments of 410 a month on the WRX.
