Tail/Headlights that WONT get me in trouble with the Po-Po

Ok so....I had a run in with the po-po that wasnt ABOUT my tail lights, but it was all he could get me for....so I gotta remove my sexy lights with gasoline this weekend.

what CAN i put on to make the car look a little nicer but not get owned by the cops.

I have seen Black & red vinyl on the lights, that almost looks like its stock, but its not.

(leaves the reverse & brake area open on the tails) anyone know where I can buy these, and will I get pulled over with a clear part in the center for that?

Also, HEADLIGHTS. Has anyone baked/painted the inside of their headlights? If you have have you gotten any guff from the police?

I mean if they check it for films they aint gonna find anything so....

Also, how do you guys feel about racks on the '09 Hatches? Look good/bad? I'm thinking of getting some Thule's and bag for snowboarding etc

Well you can try the Vinyl for your tail lights, some tint shops can do them for you or you can get some pre-cut stuff from E-bay.
I tried to do my tail lights a while back and it didn't come out so well so I just bought aftermarkets lights.
So if you do try to do the vinyl on your lights make sure you have a heatgun to work with because the layover method with just a squigee wont work for squat.

Sucks the Pokey is busting your arse. They might have it out for you now so don't be surprised if they try to get ya again.

Some just ignore it because they don't want to give out petty tickets. But, when they fall back onto it because they couldn't find anything else wrong. That's when it gets you.

This is mostly for Cali folks, but im sure some other states are sticky about non-performance mods. I read somewhere that its illegal to replace stock headlights with HID's in CA. Is that really true, and if so, whats the reason??

Wow! From what I found I guess Cali is really strict on what you do to your vehicle!
Glad I live on the east coast.

No problem man, The cops around here are pretty passive.
But if you go blowing through town doing twice the speed limit they will try to get you for everything they can.

Good luck with the pokey in your area.

Wow, I've heard California has strict laws, but that just sounds like they're trying to kill off any and all motorports out there.
