Question Subaru Warranty / Replacing broken headlights on a "modded" car.

Hello guys,

I have a 2005 WRX and one of my tailights has a crack in it, possibly from someone backing into me or hitting it. I want to take my car to a dealer and have them replace it. I have installed Tein H-Type springs and tinted my windows. I don't have any other mods.

1. Do you think it would be a problem to have my light replaced since I have some aftermarket parts?

2. Are the headlights covered under warranty?

Warranty usually covers what went wrong due to a manufacturer fault. Having your tail light broken, on accident, on purpose or whatever usually isnt their fault. But it never hurts to try..??

by law, you only void the warentee on the part you replace.

sooooo, if you have suspension mods, and your turbo takes a poo they cant through your suspension mods in your face saying your warentee is void.

Yea but you know some dealers, they would say "Since you upgraded your suspension we are under the impression that you have been driving your car very hard or racing it, sorry your warrenty has been fully voided "

I usually call and give them my situation and ask if I can bring it by for them to look at if the problem warranty acceptable. My dealership is pretty good about honoring warranties with a modded car. But your case sounds like something they might deny since it'd be someone else's fault. They almost denyed me about that black trim infront of the wheelwell being ripped off, but I think he reconized me from before and did it under good faith.

They should pay to fix the seals, but I can understand why they won't pay for the amp.
