stock tire price

Ok, so I am going to upgrade my tires and use the stocks as winter tires (until they die) starting next summer but I got a 4 inch long piece of metal caught lengthwise in my back passenger side and destroyed the rubber. Anyway, I had also been rear ended recently so my trunk wouldn't open = no spare. So, they towed me to the dealer (free subaru towing).

AND THE CHARGED ME $188 for the tire (not including install)!!!

can you guys help me find lots of places where they are less? I remember them being like $95 for the stock 205/55 RE92s 16"

Try tirerack.com or 1010tires.com. The only way im paying 188 for a tire is if its ULTRA high performance.

Might as well buy the entire rim from somebody on ebay with the tires on with that price.

replacement plan???

it had a strip of metal in it 4 inches long. I can't exactly blame the tire company for it.

I think he means a seperate plan for cases like that. I know tirerack, if you pay for the replacement plan, if you get a nail in the tire, they'll send you a new one. A friend was telling me about it.

well, it's a stock tire. Subaru doesn't offer free tire replacements for driving on metal

I bought rims and tires together from wheelmax.com. Not the fanciest setup but I cant complain at all. I got 17 inch rims, that look real nice IMO and Toyo Proxies 4 tires for $645 SHIPPED. Great price especially considering i sold my stock rims/tires for $500 on ebay!
