STi type Hood Scoop

I was looking around e-bay and came across this hood scoop. It looks nice and its what I was basically looking for, but I just wanted everyone elses opinion. My car is Midnight Pearl '03. Do you think I should get this one that looks like carbon fiber or an unpainted(they are about $70) one and get it to match my car?? Does this look like a quality build to you?? Any opinions are helpful.

Thanks,
-Adam

That looks like the one that i wanted. i was going to go with the carbon fiber but then it was a toss up. it really depends on your preference. it would probably look "cleaner" if you got it to match your car,but if you like the fiber, then you should go with what looks good to you. just my $0.02

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the random carbon pieces, but as long as you like it, that's what matters. It's really hard to tell quality with ebay stuff. It's a tossup unless someone else has already tried it.

I really don't care for the look of carbon fiber anyway and was planning on having it painted to match my car. Thanks for the info guys!!

i think that carbon fiber looks good on blue and silver, but the black doesnt look all that great. i'd say if you WERE going to go with fiber, than you should probably go with the whole hood. but thats like $400 or so and its not even needed. your call...

If I were to get a new hood, this would be it :

Fell in love with that hood the first time I saw it. I think it goes for around $700 though.

lol, I love how we got from hoodscoop to the full blown hood now.

BUT, if I were to choose a new hood, I'd look for the WRC style, with the STi scoop and that section right infront of it to duct the FMIC. Wishful thinking...

WRXTreme- where did you find that hood at? I've scoured the net looking for body mods and i've never seen anything like that-

What do you mean, "Catalytic Converters are required by law?!?" Faugh!

I got a small catalog with my intake silencer delete elbow that had that hood in. I fell in love with it and told myself that if I ever bought a hood, that would be it.

If you're looking for hoods and stuff whether its CF or not, this website www.jscspeed.com has real nice hoods. I personally like one made by Seibon...you should check em out. Theyre expensive but seem to be worth it.
