To each his own.....I think it would be fine putting a SPT sticker on the wrx's, but an STI...dont' see what the big deal is. But I have an 07 with the STI sideskirts, but a WRX wing cause that's the way I got it from the dealer...now the only thing I would like to add is the front lip to finish the kit...but that's it...if I wanted a STI then I would have bought one....we all come from the same wonderfull places of Subie land!

Now the question is, if you had an S202 badge or something. It's quite obvious to anyone that knows a decent amount about Subaru that if it's in the States, it's not real. Couldn't it symbolize being a fan of a particular version/era? Same as a bugeye holding an STi badge.
In the end, it's all personal opinion.

I think it would be cool to put a vinyl number on the rear window representing the level of horsepower you have.
Such as "300 CLUB" if you have 300 horsepower at the wheels.
Or if you tuned and have 500 horsepower put a vinyl that says "500 CLUB".
What do you all think? Should we start a new Subaru trend?
I have an STi wing on my car, its an 02. Its not an STi and there are no badges calling it an STi either. but it will be getting a new heart soon, Sti 2.5 block. i still wont call it an STi, its a WRX to the core
a little late but.....an STi is a WRX with sti parts. just because your wrx didnt come with the sti parts from factory shouldnt mean you cant have the sti colors IMO. i bought my STi so that i didnt have to buy all the aftermarket stuff for it, i wanted to have the confidence to drive this car the way a wrx should be driven day in day out!!!
Well I have a little story to share... tonight I saw a black 2007 "STi" parked off to the side at a car meet I went to. I looked at it and got excited because I thought it was a nice black STi, so I started walking toward it. I saw STi fog covers, STi stickers on the front doors, an STi badge in the front grill, the signature park bench wing on the back, and even the little spoiler on top of the black glass. So I thought to myself, "It's an 07 STi," but I was wrong. As I got even closer, I noticed it had 2006-2007 WRX 7 spoke wheels, red brakes that said Subaru in white letters, and the ride height seemed a little high. This next part really shocked me... I saw some guy get out of the driver's seat and another person, unknowingly said to the driver, "Hey, is that an STi?" And the driver said, "Yeah." I knew for a fact that he was lying, but I didn't say anything. I was a little disappointed and told my friend that it wasn't an STi because of the brakes and wheels. In my opinion, it's fine to make an STi replica, but if you're going to do it, at least swap the interior and put Brembo brakes and STi wheels on it too before you say, "Yeah, it's an STi" so you can fool everybody. I know his little secret!

I had a guy try to trick me once. He yelled into my open window. "Hey, nice car! Does it have the driver controlled center differential?" I paused for a moment before I replied with "nope, those only come standard on the STi's" and drove off.

the whole idea of building and or decorating a car in such a manner to avoid poserism is ridiculous.
and the argument of sti badges on a wrx is pointless. what about sti badges on an xt or a gl?(whatare those?)
anyway wrx, sti are trim levels on the subaru impreza. same with outback sport. yeah you cam put sti parts on your wrx and wrx on your outback sport and even your outback sport on an sti. either way
no harm in sporting a badge, at least on something that has an sti factory part like some kind of sideskirt or wing or bumper, so long as you dont go posing around as an sti
now the bickering between my wx is better than your sti is lame. really these cars only do you any good if you know how to drive them. and the driver really makes a difference.
and where would some high school kid have the experience to go crazy with his car, or 30,000 bucks to buy it in the first place.
Its kind of cool to read through it and read about everyones perspective and thoughts about things like this. To each their own. I personally want my car to have an s204 lip and spoiler, but maybe put the RS badges on it. Then see how many people really know what they are looking at.
