Are you running off the stock deck? Because it sucks, I reccommend running an amp for components if you want good sound.

nah dude i have a panasonic 50X4 watts. i was talkng to the local shop and he was going to get me into some 6.5" clarions for 109 each (in canada everything is a rip-off haha) and he said they'd sound decent just off the deck. but i was just thinking i could get some higher quality online for cheaper i just don't know that much about speakers.

Jave is more helpful than not
is the 50wx4 peak or RMS? if it is peak then I would say run an amp. If it is RMS then make sure the speakers are 50w or higher.

im betting thats peak like many decks today rated @ 50wattsx4 when its really like 18 watts rms.

I would search online and you can get much better speakers. Although its always better to stay away from deck power and run an amp, you can still have a much better sounding system off your deck power and some upgraded speakers. Just remeber you get what you pay for.

MB Quart ESA 216 Component Speakers

would be some good speakers for less money that you can run off your current setup and will sound even better when you get them an amp to run off.

Phoenix Gold R6.5COMP Component Speakers

these would be the same but another brand for you too check out. These were rated as one of the top component sets for under $150 bucks awhile back by a car audio mag.

Kicker 06ZX200.4 Amp: Multi-channel

is a awesome amp for cheap that these speakers will love.

I'm not sure how shipping works to you but hope this helps you out.

that would actually work out pretty good. so where would i put the tweeters? or are there places in the door for them? and all i'd have to do is make some spacers and put those in the doors and put the amp under the passenger seat or is there room under the seat for an amp?

my 06 has tweeter spots so I figured most years did. If not then its still really easy to mount them. My prefrence is to keep the sound stage together and mount the speakers within 2 to 5 inches of each other. Mount the amp in the trunk and not under a seat. Under the seat you dont move much air so your more likely to overheat.

I have the factory sub/amp under my drivers seat. I know it doesnt push much. But after a long drive up to Mt. Rainer and right back to Tacoma it didnt seem that hot for as long as I was running it. My amp in my Cougar got hotter in the back did than what the one under my seat did.
