speaker spacer

Im getting new speakers and Im still not exactly sure how to make a spacer and where it fits on the speaker. Can someone help me out how to make one and put one on? Ive heard Mazda spacers would work????

What you need is called a baffle... you can make them yourself out of MDF. You make rings for the speaker to fit in. The speakers should give you a mounting diameter which will tell you how big to make the inside circle of the ring, then you just make the outside a little larger than the basket of the speaker so it can be screwed into the metal door frame.

i wonder how much space there is between the speaker section of the plastic door cover and the steel door itself. my new door speakers are about 5" deep....

Can I buy spacers for the front speakers somewhere? I really want to ditch the crappy factory speakers, they sound horrible.
