Snorkus Delete on an 05

When I remove the snorkus, do I just cut off the huge part and attach something to the leftover part (that connects to the air filter and where the air comes in). Is it this simple? For those of you who have done this, what did you use to cover up the “new” hole? (If I am correct on the procedure.)

I used this:

Intake Snorkus Remover - Intake

...others have gone the DIY route (with some sort of generic flexible tubing), and there are others who have even left it unconnected. It's up to you of course.

Stroked and stoked!

My buddy took of the snorkus box and cut it near the connection inside the fender.. Then he took a rotary tool and smoothed out the edges for the smoothest air flow. He reconnected it to the ram air and the air box. That way you are not sucking in hot air from the engine bay. The cool air is still forced in to the fender and then that same air is sucked out. But you can not go back stock if you do it this way, unless you have and extra snorkus. I think its goofy just taking off the snorkes and leaving a hole in the air box. How is that beneficial?

I ran the snokus delete tube and flat panel K&N for about 20k. I just got the spt intake and its way better. No more power but the sound is so cool. Just save up and get one of those. I got the intake and heat shield used for 130.
