Shifter Knob & Boot, how to get a clean install.

I recnently purchased and installed the Momo Race air shift knob. Unlike other posts where I have heard that some of these knobs are not staying on my question here is how can you have a clean finished install with the boot not just sliding around hanging free under the knob? What kind of things have you guys done out there with this or other knobs that do not have a retainer for the boot to hook onto? Thanks.

This is what I did. I used the stock boot. I did have to buy the adapter for the Elegance boot ( has a ridge on the bottom of it so the boot will connect to. The stock boot will not fit on this ridge, I thought it might but it didn't (it is made for the elegance boot). I cut the top of the boot off, pulled it over the ridge and used the piping band to hold it inside of the ridge. Pulled the boot downward until the edge was under the band(out of sight). Turned out real clean without spending more $ for an elegance boot. On the other hand that is another choice. Good Luck

I just got that shift knob as well, and I used duct tape and card board to hold it in place. A lot cheaper and doesnt require cutting.
