Shaved trunk lock

has anyone shaved the trunk lock on thier wrx?

If so was there a backup way installed to open the trunk in the event that the cable broke?

thanks

I am pretty sure that when people shave their handles or locks they put a solenoid that releases when you hit a button on your keyless entry.

well I have a huge sub box that is the way of the access from the back seat. As far as the solenoid, is there way to program the after market reciever to pop the trunk when the factory key fob is press a certain amount of times?

There's a write up here.

Basically, your remote can do 2 different functions (one press, and two press). You reprogram the first one with the 2nd one, so that on the first press (unlock), ALL doors open rather than just the driver. This frees up the other space for your disgression.
