Shane, I need the whole back seat is the tricky part, my biggest issue is how the middle slot is so big and I need is to be split like this
and also thinking of a low profile bar like this?

That bar may still be dangerous for passengers in the back. The problem is if the unthinkable happens and you hit something solid with a passenger in the back there's a really good chance that they will go face first into that bar. You could put some type if foam around it to help, but it'll most likely still injure someone. That bar, now that I look at it again may work, just depends how far back it goes. The center would be tricky but you could always put them both through and overlap them a little. Might not be the most comfortable thing in the world but it should work. Has anyone ever seen a single sided harness bar? Something that bolts to the drivers seat attachment points and doesn't go all the way across?

They make foam that is like a pool noodle with a slit in it that goes over roll bars. Just an option.

Well another thing that is bothering me, is a lot of people is telling me that harness can do more harm then good in an accident if not set up right. what is the "Correct" way for setting it up.

That is very true Nathan. I was gonna mention that earlier but figured you were aware. I don't have any experience with it so I do not know.

Did not know that, although I just figured there's only one way to set it up. Good to know there's a right and a wrong way to do it.
A pool noodle would work, especially with a low profile one that leaves more space in the backseat.
I want to put a harness in my car, but I need the backseat as well. I was leaning towards a removable setup that can be installed and removed in about a half hour, but knowing that there is a right and a wrong way to set up the harness makes me question it now. I don't really need it, once I move I'll just be going to a few auto-x events.

Well if it is installed wrong, when you get into an accident it could actually compress your spine, more then just a bad case of whip lash

No I do not, but my tuner has done it for others. Nathan, I'd check around California. See if any big name places have any good ideas. I'm sure Crawford Performance could whip something up with high quality. If you can stand their prices.

not on a big budget is the problem, because I can go get two racing seats and harness bars for around 800-1k
