Removing passenger/ back seats.?

Not sure if anyone has done this or if it is even legal, but I was thinking about taking out my passenger and back seats and do something custom like do a glass layover. Maybe even remove the whole interior besides the dash and driver seat. Not sure what to replace it with yet but just a thought.
I plan on putting it in the garage for a bit and tearing it down and making a nice project car and just wanna see if anyone else has attempted this?

Im sure it will lighten it up a bit also.

Any feedback?

Fiberglass? That's a lot of work.

Also keep in mind the fact that the seats act as sound insulators. Your car will get a lot louder if you take them out.

Not dead set on the fiberglass, just thinking about something different to do.
No worries about the work it will be,gonna pick a beater for commute but ya got a point, didn't think about the sound factor.
No one ever sits in the back so might as well ditch dead weight.

^ thats along the lines of what I was thinking.
If its gonna be a show car or track car, then what the hell. have at it.
If your gonna build it and use it once again as a DD, than sit on it for a while. The noises are gonna bug the bejesus out of you.

If you lay/build fiberglass, you can add sound deadening to it. But glassing that much will be a rather long and tedious project.

That's it? I thought it was like 5 lbs. Just 2 big foam pads. I think the metal hooks weight more than the seats.

Bench is about 15 but my whole folding assembly pushes 45.

All I know is when I gut my car behind the drivers seat (rear seat, floor mats, spare, tools, cargo cover and tray) I shed about 150 lbs.
