Ram Air and Pics...

So my buddy and I decided to make a better path to cold air than what was on the car. Since we live in San Antonio and cold air is not very abundant this is the solution we came up with. $20 at Home Depot. We figure it'll be better than nothing.

First we got all of the supplies...

Dryer hose (mandatory for any intake )
A vent
Black spray paint
Misc hardware

Kitty did the inspection of all the parts

Trusty Deflecto

We painted the vent with the black spray paint

Then we cut a hole under the bumper to fit the vent into

Then ran the hose up the side of the fender

Screwed the vent into place...

Then attached the hose

Dyno proven for 25whp.

Afterwards, we went out for some pics. Enjoy.

hmm... that might actually work. it doesn't look like there's any way for water to climb up to the intake. nice job! nice to see the new gen owners are still trying to innovate. now if you could form a box or something around the filter as a heat shield...

Yeah, its a little ghetto. We will be painting the ducting black to kinda hide it. I'm not sure if he wants to do the box though. He likes the way the engine bay looks right now, so it might just stay like like it is.

My friend is doing all of the testing. Pretty much driving around and seeing it helped at all with throttle response and such. I'm not familiar with Subaroos but I don't think there is an intake temperature sensor that we can monitor is there? That would be the best test for it to me. I am waiting to hear from him though on whether he felt any difference at all.

I believer there is. Do you happen to have a tactrix cable or any OBDII/usb cable, for that matter?

All I have is a VAG COM cable that I use on my VW. Not sure if that'll work but I can see what we can find.

Edit: Is there a program that we need also?
