Prosport electric boost gauge install

Just bought a Prosport electric boost gauge. First question, where is the best place to run wires through my firewall. Second question, is the cigarette lighter a good place to pull 12v power from?

Fuse box is how I installed. There is also a grommet on the firewall behind the TMIC. So many write ups on this. Only the sender wire goes through the firewall. I used the write up from Wrxtra.

Do I need to take my dash apart to access that hole?

I did the install today. Something isn't right. I need a 12v power source and accessory power. What can I use for power?

Right - you need a 12v constant (like the fuse to your door) and ACC power (like the fuse to your ignition). You could always tap the clock harness as well. That actually gives you the diagram on the clock on which wire belongs to what.

Tapping the clock harness: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-inst...-complete.html

Another quick Google search and here is an actual post to show you what I was referring to with the clock wiring harness: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...7&postcount=35

Tap the clock pod. That is the easiest way to install these. If you do not want to do that then use a fuse tap on the ignition or even radio fuse. Those are both perfectly acceptable ACC.

The pic in the link you posted is near the interior fuse box. That's located on the driver side left knee area.

^ That's the route I went. Fuse taps/splitters make for an easy, clean, completely reversable install. I found a couple of pretty nice write-ups online, but unfortunaterly, I didn't pay as close attention to them as I should have, so I had to swap the fuses several times to get the colors correct with the headlights on/off. Not really a big deal though. Prosport electric boost gauges are the jam!

To give them the correct name. They are really called "Add a fuse" or "Add a circuit" when you go to pick them up. Here is what they look like -

What boost psi are you guys seeing not wide open. I think my hose is too small ### when I get on it in second to around 3k rpms it's at like 6lbs. Does that seem right?

What mods do you have done to the car? Someone like myself, turmic, psinuse would not be relevant to you, but guys with a similar setup would net you the best results. Not trying to be an a$$, but there are mild to a few wild builds on here.
