My 04 is silver and my husband knows a guy with a booth that wants to paint my car, all I have to do is buy the paint, and I wanted some opinions on this. Keep in mind I'm a girl, but the idea is this light plum purple, solid in the back, but in the front I wanted to tape it off and make some flames that only go back about as far as the end of the scoop. I want a couple of big flames to look like they are being sucked up into the scoop. I don't have a drawing yet, but I'm working on it. I'll supply the link to the shade of purple as soon as I get it from the guy. I've seen it online, and it looks pretty sweet, but what about the flames? Also, I have stock rims for now, and my husband is trying to talk me into letting him paint them black....he did his on his red GTO and it looks good, they aren't chipping. Any opinions?

Many people paint their stock rims. If done with good prepping and paint, its great and cheap. As far as flames go, not really into them on many cars. I do believe its more of a musle car thing though. Just my 2 cents.

I think you have to be careful when putting flames, stripes, stickers, or other graphics on an Impreza. If it's done right, it looks ok, but when it's not, it can really look pretty bad. I'm more a fan of a single solid color on our cars. The purple color your mentioned might look pretty good, but I'm not so sure about the flames.

Thanks for the backup guys. I think imprezas that are painted other than stock (as long as they are solid color) are cool. Like Mike mentioned, I wouldnt mind having either a green or yellow WRX.

Depends on the flame colors also.... You might be able to get away with some ghost flames... Definately not silver flames on a purple WRX though. MAYBE dark, black or blue flames would be OK, if you're serious about getting flames, but the silver would look really tacky... i'll see if i can photoshop it and see waht it looks like in a few minutes...
