No More Beep from Keyless Entry?

So I've noticed about a month or so ago that if my car was parked in direct sunlight on a hot and humid day, my Sube won't beep when I open the doors with the keyless entry. And now my car no longer beeps at all. My friend's 04 WRX lost it's beep too for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else?

And yes I do know there's a way to disable the beep. And no I didn't disable it.

...My Sube lost its voice. !Notfunny!

did you try re-enabling it? my pocket has turned mine off in the past (at my old place, i could lock and unlok my car from inside my apt)

flip the fob over, it should be hold for 2 sec's to enable/disable

if you have already tried this..... err......
time to find the unit, and see if the speaker thats making the tone is ok i supose.

Well this happened before but the beep came back after a day or two. Now it's been like a whole week w/o the beep. I guess I should check to see if it's disabled or not again.

Where is the speaker anyway? I guess it's not that big of a deal but I'm just curious. When your car is in mint condition and something goes wrong, you gotta find out why lol.

UPDATE:

Funny thing is, it became a little cooler last night over here in NJ/PA and then my beep came back! But now it sounds weird because I got used to the no beep... You could get a kick out of what SOA might have to say about why the beep goes away lol.

I had the same problem. And I got half beeps too. Like it'd die halfway. Apparently there's a problem with my bottom "buzzer?" My dealership replaced it under warranty and the problem has never come back. I've heard of several people having the same problem.

if your still under the bumper to bumper milage (30K) they shouldent question it.

unless you have "alarm mods"

it wont be coverd under the 60K power train

I'm sorry sir I see you have a turbo timer. I'm afraid that voids your beeper noise maker warranty.

Does the humidity have anything to do with keyless entry acting up? One day it was insanely humid and on my sisters car her trunk opened by itself.

It's definitely messing with my "beep maker thingy". Never made the trunk open on its own though. Maybe she didn't close it all the way?

And I think I'm just going to turn off the beep so it stays consistent. If the beep maker dies, oh well lol.

I like these new smillies we got on our site now.

unless she has added something to the truck release, that would be imposible.

My 05 has been doing it lately too. Sometimes it beeps and sometimes it doesnt. Had the car for about 3 months now. I even tried to disable and re-enable the beeper thingy.

well im going to the dealer on thursday for that 03 recall (some bolt on the front driver seat) so ill ask em whats up with the beep, and see if i can get one of the mechanics to show me where the beep actually comes from, maybe a take apart / re seat will help some of the problems.
