Mystery Compartment

I've had my car for over a year now and I think this is maybe the second time I've even opened it. It looks as though it is made specifically for something...looks like a small trailer jack fits??? Oh, also the 05 brochure says that it is equipped with a 12V outlet in the back that I am still yet to find.

It looks like you could fit at least a 12 pack in there.. But I agree, it looks it was designed for something specific.

I Have the same compartment in my 06 FXT. My First thought was for an umbrella but that wouldn't make a lot of sense. Put the umbrella away in the back then run around to get in.
With the rubber mat covering the carpet you would never know it was there, I Found mine prob a year after I bought it. Unfortunately I haven't come across any well placed compartments in my 09 WRX yet.

I'll have to go look for that. I don't think my M4 will fit in there, but I bet a Mossberg riot gun with a folding stock would fit just right...

Come to think of it my 12 gauge equipped with an 18 in barrel and pistol grip would fit nicely and legal in Ok but inaccessible in a hurry if baddies are on my tail...
