Momo Shift Knob

I just installed my Momo shift knob, and was wondering if there was a way to get the leather boot to stay up around the knob. Anyone else run into this?

Woah...didn't even know you could do that. I guess the one I got is "universal" and it doesn't really have that little lip to hold the boot up.

How much are they from Subaru? I'll probably just keep this one since I got it off of eBay and the it's really not worth the trouble. I guess I could sell it again.

I got the universal one as well and here's how I kept mine up...
I pull the boot up around the knob, put card board around the thick part that goes around the neck of the boot then used duct tape to hold it still. Never moves and looks nice and crisp. You can also buy the Momo adapter but why bother? Here are some pix.

Awesome...that looks like a great solution. The pics are a real help too. Thanks!

How do I get the center console (the plastic around the shifter) off?

Pull, the whole center console is just clipped down. No screws other than to get off the armrest thingy.

I thought I'd try a different approach before I pulled the console.

I wrapped some double sided tape around the shifter below the knob, then pulled the boot up over the tape and pressed it down. It seems to be working great for now. Hope it lasts.

Thanks for all the help Tut.

take off the knob, and boot and go to lowe's or home depot and get some washers that will fit around your shifter, place the boot back on, it should lift the washer at the top of the boot up and then just screw down the knob as far as you want it to go. i had to do that to my SParco knob, looks perfect
