cant see the needles on spedometer

Hey whats goin on guys..I have an 04 WRX wagon and I saw a cool post in here about changing the gauge lights with these blue t5 leds. I have ordered them and then changed them all and it looks great. my only concern is that the light on the speedometer rpm meter gas and heat meter dont really illuminate as well as the others.. any tips on how to get them to show more.. btw the needles are red.

Hi Roachconwrx,

I just did my 2002 as well. I think it really depends on the style of bulb you get more than anything.

I found the exact same thing as you with my bulbs, and I ended up getting these:

10 Pcs T5 Wedge 1LED 5050 SMD Car Dashboard Instrument Panel Light Blue: Amazon.ca: Automotive 10 Pcs T5 Wedge 1LED 5050 SMD Car Dashboard Instrument Panel Light Blue: Amazon.ca: Automotive

Which ended up being the flat top ones, and I think that's the problem. I think the instrument cluster was designed to use bulbs that spread out more rather than those with a fixed straight beam.

I think for the price, I'll try some other ones next time. Something with a dome on it.

1 smd LED

Hey thanks for the response,, I have tried those already and still no good but I had ordered three smd leds instead im hoping it will spread out the light and reflect off the mirrored glass point to the needles. the one smd led seems like it will only point straight so if the new ones work I will post it
