How to paint over dings

Does anyone know of a good way to cover up dings in hood from tailgaiting. I thought of getting some paint from the factory and just dabbing it on each individual speck, then buffing. does anyone know of any better ways to get out specks?????

Depends how big the digs are. If they are small, a clay bar, wax, and touch up paint will do the trick. If they are bigger, the buffing wheel well do them. BTW what the hell are you tailgating cement trucks? lol.

No, my specks are the size of just small pebbles. But I have a lot from a lot of tailgating from Interstate Hwys going around 80mph. My biggest is like the size of 3 bbs.

dip a Q-tip in the paint and lightly roll the q-tip over the spot to be painted. Usually works pretty good. Don't put goobs of paint on the q-tip either. Just a very small amount.

i used factory touch up........but

the color match is very nice... but the problem is this... a layer of paint is missing when dinged.... the paint will not fill this space,,, it just matches the color...

Are you suggesting using the clay bar and wax to fill this space and then paint over top to match the level of the paint evenly......... and where do i get the clay bar at?

You can get the clay bar at like Advanced Auto Parts or Pep Boys. And the wax just helps to prepare the surface, while the clay bar will help filling in the hole.
