How much to paint a scoop?

I really want to get a STI scoop for my '03, but when i went to ask a local body shop what he would charge to paint it (looking a my current scoop to base the price on) he said it would be about $250. Which sounded a little ridiculous to me... I was wondering if anyone here has gotten their scoop painted and what it costed. I know that on some sites such as scoobytuner.com u can get one pre-paint for like $40 more, (when in stock) which im sure is almost never.

~$90. Not local though. Jamie at Carter Subaru had a paint shop paint it before they sent it to me.

That would be awesome man. I haven't ordered it yet, was trying to figure out what my total cost is gonna be.

On a side note, my STI key came in today. I had to get it cut at the nissan dealership (Parkway Subaru/Volvo doesn't have a key-cutter) but it looks so damn sexy on my key chain.

Too bad the 06's have an electronic key and the STi won't match up...

I paid that much painted for my STi Scoop.

Of course you have to realize they would have to clear out lines get the color to match your car etc. A lot of effort for one little piece.
