How difficult is changing the hood scoop for a newbie

Question:
Finally back into a WRX (after trading in my 2.5rs) in a couple days (was driving my first one home from the dealer when a lady ran a red light and sent me through the intersection, after two months at the shop they decided it was totaled and my check comes at the end of the week, yeeehaaa).
So the only thing I want to do at this time is a reverse hood scoop, its just something I feel I have to do. So the questions:
one: any good recommendations on makers.
two: is this something I can get painted professionally and then install myself.

just a few more days now, maybe i can count in hours.

I don't know of anyone who makes a reverse scoop. I have seen a couple, but they were custom made.

And, if you still have a top-mounted intercooler, you can't run a reverse scoop anyways.

They have a few reverse scoops. I personally like them and plan on getting one as soon as I get a front mount. That, or the Kaminari carbonfiber hood.

Yeah man you need an FMIC before you lose the hood scoop.

Right

Thats right, makes sense. Hmm, might be waiting on that for a while then. Just not into really big scoops.

Before I got a WRX and was still in the "Dreaming" stage I was dreaming about getting a WRX Wagon and swapping an Impreza wagon hood after running a grilled (stealth) FMIC... Man, that would be one hell of a sleeper.

oh yeah, and after a while you get used to the pizza-oven and even kinda grow to like it.
