High Mileage

I wanted to start a thread for people with wrx's with 80k plus miles. I was wondering how many miles they had, and what types of problems they have ran into. Mine has 86k, and my electronics are looking kind of scetchy.

Mine has 88700 on it. I did numerous track days this year with it. The only problems I've had are mod related (mostly my own fault), except I broke the glove box latch yesterday Our weather has been in the single digits at night, and the plastic was just too brittle. Anybody got one to sell ?? The BCS may be chingered, too, but if it is, it was a pre-existing condition. I bought the car with 56000 on the clock.

I have noticed my starter, and also my lights flutter w/ my radio when it is on at Idle. If the music is loud.

Hey there,

I have an 02 wrx(manual), with drum roll please 108,700 miles. Runs great, original transmission, engine etc. No problems yet. It's a daily driver thus the slightly higher mileage, original owner. Been to the track a few times, best 1/4 pass 14.45@94. Not bad for a stock wrx with over 100K. The dealer offered me 5,000 in a trade-in and told him see Ya! I 'm keeping a winner.

Used STi, I would rather get a brand new WRX TR. But that's just me.

5,000 for a WRX? I'd of went to his house, slapped his ma'ma,pissed on his lawn and stuck his dogs head in the toilet. KBB lists the trade in value at 8,115. What an A-hole

Really? Wow,here in IA they stick to it pretty good. If that were the case then I'd go private party. I'd rather set my car on fire than sell it for 5,000. Of course, I can't really talk 'cause I'll never sell. NEVER!!!

I'll be hitting 90K this weekend on my way back to college. I picked it up at 78K ... and its an 02... and i spent entirely too much on it " CARMAX BLOWS" ... otherwise i'd be in a 05 wrx atleast. oh well. My car has been amazing to me. The only things i noticed so far were, compression issue on infamous Cylinder #3 at about 80k miles... and one day when it got really cold, the CD player would not read any discs whatsoever, but worked fine the next day. Some gripes i have still ... are sometimes i feel the bugeyes resemble a neon too much.... and most of all.... its not an STi. By the way i've been seeing some high mileage 02 and 03s go for around 11-12k on ebay.

Bug-eyes are beautiful man, anyone who mistakes one for a Neon could be considered legally blind.

Baught mine with 91k it now has 92k I havn't had any problems with it in the past 2 weeks other than some weird hesitation and then a large power boost at about 5800 RPM's. But Only time will tell. I hope these don't get as bad as DSM's after time.
