I just purchased the mach III (tuner shop in san fran) HID 4300k kit. just waiting for it to come in. ill post pics when I have them installed. I talked to the dude there and he said that 4300k is the best. anything over 6000k is pointless.

Are the projectors on the stock 06 and 07 good enough for HIDs? I guess i don't see the point of doing a retrofit, is it necessary on the new WRXs?

this is what an 4300k HID kit would look like on an 06-07 WRX (its not the best picture). They are not TOO bright, just perfect for me. I bought a JDM F1 kit...

was it a plug and play set up or was there a lot of wiring involved? I'm considering getting a kit in the near future... I just ordered a set of piaa head lights and yellow fogs.. When the headlights need replaced again then I will order a hid kit.

Well, Ive got Silverstars in right now for both my headlights and fogs, they look spectatular to me and they have put out a great deal of light in comparisson to my stock lights, I may just end up sticking with those, unless i could score a set of STi lights yaw mean. If i ever figure out how to upload pics ill do it.

i got the 5000k 50watt Apexcone kit from SharpHID.com - Automotive HID Xenon Conversion Lighting Products. 5000k is bout as high in kelvin that u wanna go...other wise ## not really getting any benefit. it made a big difference in visibility... However, i just put in some TSX projectors...MAN it made a HUGE difference in visibility. GET HID PROJECTORS...not too hard to put in and the gain is well worth it.
