Hella supertones

I have a 2010 WRX and I was wondering if I could install the hellas without messing with wiring them to the battery. Can I just plug them in the the stock wire or something. If it is possible to do it this way would the horns be as loud? Thanks

You can just butt-splice into the factory wires... They are still loud as all get out.... adding the relay and all that prob only adds a few Db.... IMHO

When i got mine there was an option for a wiring kit so there was no need to splice anything. I ordered from rallysportdirect.com

When I was researching for these (looking to get a set when I get back to the states) I ran across them here:Hella Supertone Horn Kit - 003399801 - Hella - Horns - Subaru Aftermarket Parts They have different colors, and you can get the wiring harness and the mounting brackets if you want.

There isn't a need for the wiring kit (relay and all that jazz is pointless) unless you want the xtra 2-3db

Did it make a difference ? Did you try them out seperately ?

Always have been curious about that.

Hey Josh, that's a funny website... 20.00 extra for them to paint them for you ? WOW

to be honest i bought the wiring kit mainly because i was being lazy and didn't want to cut into any wires yet. It honestly only took me less then fifteen minutes including popping off my grills and unbolting old horns and bolting new horns and snapping wiring harness into place. I decided to save my time for installing new stereo and subwoofer and new speakers...
