Question Gauge Pods

Hey guys I'm looking into getting gauges and a gauge pod before I go get my UTEC and I've been looking at the Defi Pod. The question I have is, does it come painted and if it doesn't, does it look odd if it isn't painted? I really want a pod that looks like the Defi but won't need painting and will look fine w/o the painting. Also is there a pod out there that's center mounted (like the Defi and stock pods) that angles the gauges toward the driver? Thanks in advance!

This is the pod that I have. It's the stock gauge pod that is modified to fit 52mm gauges...not the stock 45mm ones. It doesn't angle the gauges at you, but I haven't really had a problem with it. I like it b/c it looks factory - same finish as the rest of the dash.

you need to paint the defi.....its not painted stock. and it comes in grey...not too color coordinated for the stock dash.

i love it..esp with my Greddy gauges.

Thanks for the great pics! I really like how the stock pod will match the interior but I also like how the Defi pod looks better. Fc, how did u paint yours? Was it hard? (I have no experience with painting parts).

Here's mine paint matched to the stock dash; his is more to the stock silver edging around the head unit and AC controls.

Unfortunately, I do not remember the website I purchased the paint from, but it's made by SEM and is called Medium Smoke (with part number of 39163) and is a Bumper Coater paint.

It is fairly easy to do. Simply rough up the Defi Pod with a 400 grit sand paper spray on a thing layer of the bumper coat, and let dry. Continue to spray on thin layer, after thin layer, until satisfied.

does anyone have pics of the side-mounted gauges; the ones that go in the a-pillar? also, are the 60mm too big for the apillar pods or are the 50mm good enough?

Looking good blue demon. Ill take some pics of my greddys once i buy a new camera memory card.I have 5 52 mm gauges (egt, boost, oil pressure, oil temp, fuel pressure) in my evo with a carbon fiber a-pillar and passenger a-pillar for asthetic look. And using an omori adjustable single din panel. I love the look of the greddy gauges not to flashy but accurate I miss my old wrx , gotta love the dash placement of gauges.

I don't think so but I have heard people mod the OEM 3 pod to hold 52 mm gauges
