Front End Cover/Bra...

Hey guys. Been going down to the shore a lot on major highways here in NJ (Parkway, Turnpike) now that the summer is here and EVERY trip, I get back and I've got hundreds of bugs and marks all over my front end and hood/windshield. It takes more than a car wash to get it all off too, I have to take some time and use a bug & tar remover and remember to get it all off the mirrors too. In any case, I called Subaru and they don't have a front end/bra cover for the WRX yet. They say it's since they have air diverters on the top leather part and it isn't good for the air flow into the hood scoop and thus the intercooler/turbo. It's only for the 2.5RS since they don't have to worry about the scoop. Anyone know ANY other place or cover to get? I just want to put it on for those trips and take it off once I get back.

Joey (fc735) uses that one on his WRX with no side effects. Of course, he as an STi scoop.

I dunno, personally I think bras are disgusting. I know what your talking about the bugs. But if it were me, I wouldnt be caught dead with a bra on my WRX, but those bugs are a pain.

Well you could buy the bra and then cut those diverter things off. Just an idea.

Buy one of those wonder bras. They are clear plastic that you put on the front of the car, and you cant see them at all. And to remove them its fairly easy as well.

the "wonder bra" aka starshield, by 3m, is a good product, but it is a PITA to install and ahjve it look good...and does not have the impact protection a lined bra has.....i bought the bra straight from subaru, for my wagon. yes, it does have a big sticker on the box that says "not for use with the WRX" , but, i have no problems. the diverter things are ther to keep it from flopping around in the wind....and they do help. but, for 90 bucks...WELL worth the investemnt..even if it looks ugly.....it comes off in 5 minutes.

now, if you get a bra...heres some tips:
1. wash the car well
2. wash the bra well, first time
3. polish at least the hood, and fenders/front bumper....2 coats better
4. make sure it is dry on installation (car and bra)
5. if it gets rained on....take it off....it will wash dirt under it...scuffing your paint
6. wash your car often, take the bra off when you do, and don't reinstall till its dry.

Bras are for women. How many of those rally WRX's with bras have you seen? I have not seen any. I'm not a hater. If you want to put on a bra on your WRX so be it. Just my 2 pennies.

It's all about protecting the investment. The Rally cars don't have them ###' the whole car is gonna' be drenched in mud and rocks all day. If you want to keep your car looking like it has a show-room shine and finish you gotta' protect it. You put it on for the hour trip, you take it off when you're there. Same on the way back. It's not for every day, for those dirty, buggy trips. Take it easy guys. Jeeez.

Joey, what bra do you have? Are you using the one in the pic? No problems? I also wonder if it would even fit my car since I have a ground effects kit on it. I know you have the Sti scoop, is that all the difference?

Now couldn't you just go with a FMIC and avoid the issue of the hood scoop? Granted that isn't exactly a cheap investment.

you could do that but then it would look like a 2.5rs with a hood scoop. i was almost sure that momo made 1 check it out.
