Floor mats in 02 anger me!

Does anyone have an idea what i can do? Everytime i get in or out the floor mat moves and when i try to drive it catches on my heel and i cannot let the clutch out. Anyone have this problem or know what to do to fix it?

There is a fixup in the how-to for the winter floor mats. Try that.

My 02 has a little plastic nub on the floor that the floor mat hooks into - although it never really worked that well. The nub was hollow, so I put a wire tie through there - my floor mat doesn't go anywhere. Unfortunately when I want it to go somewhere, I gotta cut the tie.

I looked at the how to article, i dont have those mats i have the stock carpet ones. and i guess the only way to do that is to put the zip tie thru the hole in the carpet. i guess ill see if that will work. i doubt it tho since the mat wont stay on it as is.

I never talk bad about my wrx, but I must say, I bought it in '03 w/22k (it is a '02). within the 1st week the plastic clip for the floor mat broke. and I accidently snapped my glove box handle off, tried to open it while it was locked. I guess I pulled on it too hard. I had a '00 legacy gt before, and I must say the impreza's are crap (quality) compared to the legacy. I had the legacy for 3 years, and had NO problems with it

I never had a problem with the carpet mats when I had them in the car. As for the all-season mats, they do slide around and I have to pull them out from underneith the peddles every once in a while. I've only had one problem with my car that I can think of. I've had it for 1y4m and it has 10k on it and just the other day my rearview mirror just fell off and was dangling there. I think it was b/c of my system though.

This may be a stupid question but you never know... considering I did it too. Are you using both mats at the same time? (stock and winter) They slide around like crazy like that. But after I took out the stock mats and had only winter ones in, they stay in place once they conformed to the shape of the floor.

No, I only have the stock mats in, and they will not stay on that little POS peg that subaru has for it to stay on.
