Fender mod

I bent my driver's side front fender while jacking up the car, silly me. Anyway, it is not much but I wanted to get it fixed. While searching on the different forums for some similar cases I found out about this mod that Evo owners do to their cars and I kinda like it.

I did a quick search on it and found out that there are even kits out there for them to do this, however I haven't seen anything like this for us Subaru heads. I was wondering if you guys have seen or know of such a thing for a Subaru fender?

Here is the picture of an Evo with the mod:

Looks kind of odd unless you were to put a whole kit on it to compensate, but thats just me. It looks like they just took off the fender and "pulled" out the middle section.

I'd be afraid of rain and dirt and what-not getting in there...

Valid statement. The guys at the shop were fixing my bumper, and they took it off, and it was filled with about an inch of dirt and gravel. I just got the damn thing!

But other than my previous post, I think that looks totally fly. Especially with the black trim

right and they achieve this by installing some spacers in the mounting/bolting points of the fender. The thing is that I don't know how far do the differences go between the Evo fender and the WRX one in terms of how they are attached to the car. Knowing that would be key to knowing if this can be done to the WRX...

To me that gap looks like what happens to older cars when the door grabs the fender. Happed to my 93 shadow in High School

Hmm, I actually kind of like it. It sort of simulates a wide body kit, but it's a very subtle change. I think it would probably look best on any car besides black. I'd say it's probably on a similar level as the "hood pop mod" where a few spacers are put on the hood mounting brackets near the windshield to provide a slight gap for hot air to escape at the rear of the engine bay toward the windshield. It's not for everybody, but it's a really cheap mod and it has a small effect, so if you decide to do it, more power to you. I'd kind of like to see it done nicely on a WRX, so if you go through with it, please post a pic or two and let us know how you did it.

I found a thread in evolutionm.net that is all about this. Just like here, some liked it and some didn't. Anyway, I contacted this "evodave" dude who apparently came up with a kit for this and I sked him if he had done this mod before on a WRX? His answer does not give me much, he just said that he hasn't but this should work on any car...

Here is the link to the thread with some pictures on a silver car. I still like it, I'm just hesitant about venturing out with it...

Do not do it! It pulls the top of the fender out, right infront of the mirror and looks horrible!! I thought i'd try it because it takes like 10min but it doesnt look good at all on our subies!
