factory radio upgrade.. what with all those extra wires?

So I installed an aftermarket radio. Here are the questions I have.
1. How do you know if you have a factory sub? i.e. where is it located?
2. What are the extra wires for? (there is the antenna, wiring harness, and 2 other wires (1 that attaches to the side of the metal bracket and 1 that has 2 wires, i think orange and ???) ) What are those 2 extra wires for?
3. My antenna reception is now crap. Is one of those wire some sort of antenna booster?

If you have a DVD player now, #2 (extra wires) could be the ground wire(s) that is/are supposed to be attached somewhere that keeps the DVD player from operating while the car is moving...but of course that could be considered to be the "suggested" way to hook up the extra ground wire(s)

orange wire is for a dimmer. and the wire that connects to the side of the bracket is for antenna reception.

Orange wire is for the dimmer. The wire for the side of the bracket is a ground. The blue one is the antenna booster, a must have for the radio to work.

If you used a wiring harness its just a matter of connecting the wire to the matching color.

As for another one of your questions...the factory subwoofer should be located under the driver's seat!

Thanks air, I'll look for that sub. Just had a quick thought...You would think there would be a sperate/additional plug for that dimmer/antenna booster attached to the aftermarket wiring harness.
