Ever have those moments...

Ever have that moment when you get so angry you get emotional as well? I recently noticed on my car that there are many dings, not full blown dents to the touch but you can see the imperfections. I didn't know what happened, how could this have happened, this is my baby. Then the solution came to me, more so hit me over the head. My neighbors tree has been dropping acorns on it and causing the problem. Now mind you this neighbor I haven't been to pleased with, but now to know they are the cause of my damage, it doesn't help. Thanks for the letting me vent, my wife is tired of me raging around the house.

So I am reaching out to you all, what can I do to fix the dings? I came across something called PVB or PVD, but I don't remember what that stood for. If I remember correctly its something I can get at a dealership, but I don't know what to ask for. Anyone know what I am talking about or have any ideas on getting these imperfections out as well? Please help.

On that note, does carbon fiber hold up better? I am interested in getting one of Seibon's hoods, either the CW11 or the OEM style hood, and if it ding or dent like the metal hoods I will defiantly get it as soon as possible. Can someone clear this up and shed some light on it?

Thanks for the help in advance

CF isnt lighter mind you than the stock hood. Depedning on the car or how its done I like seeing CF on certain cars. If you leave it straight CF you have to take good care of it, it can/will yellow and discolor if not taken care of properly, and if you are driving and a rock hits it, it could "rip" the fibers in the hood if it hits hard or deep enough. Just some things to think about (I have been considering a CF hood for some time now, and I work with fiberglass, CF, and kevlar on helicopters, thats my experience(s) w/it).

So with all that said, would you say with my problems, my car style, would you say I should get it or now. *side note, what branch are you with? My best friends, pretty much brothers, 1 serves as an officer in the Marines and the other an officer for the army.

I dont know how you feel about your rims. But I think if you painted your stockers dark, it would tie it all together and you would be fine. Even w/out changing the rim color you would be fine.

I might eventually get one. My idea was to paint the sides of the CF hood to match the car and leave the stripe down the middle, the width of the scoop the CF color. Just be mindful about keeping the hood out of the sun (try to minimize it if and when possible) and having it clean and waxed.

Im an E-5 (Sergeant) in the army. I have considered both the comissioned officer and warrant officer route, but I really like the hands on and training aspect the enlisted ranks offer. But best of luck with your decision. Is there a way you could maybe post up pics of your damage?
