I have an '04 WRX with a JDM EJ207 engine swap (low reported mileage, but unconfirmed).
Since I got it it has been using a liter of oil every 6000km (3570mi). I use it as a daily driver and for some performance driving events in the summer.
I'm told by a Subaru tech that up to 1 1/2 liters of oil every oil change interval is acceptable to Subaru, so it's within that generous criteria. This is likely so they don't have to pull engines apart very often for high oil consumption.
There is no sign of oil burning and no leaks so I'm assuming everything is healthy, but might there be any concerns I'm not aware of at this oil consumption level?
I have a Perrin air-oil separator (AOS) waiting to be installed as well. Might an AOS like this moderate oil consumption once installed?
