so i unplugged the module under the hood near the strut tower that says "caution hot" and also unplugged the connector behind the passenger kick panel.
You can go back and plug in both. As for the passenger kick panel connector, was it the white/yellow connector near the blue relay near the blower assembly/door speaker? The under hood one isn't the issue so reconnect it. Keep me posted as I just did mine about a week ago and don't have these issues (nor ECU issues anymore )
connector behind the glovebox, and module under the hood... and DRLs are still on.
i dont need DRL's as my lights are always on (and my fogs). yay for subarus being smart and auto-off lights are awesome
i have no issues or CELs or MILs or whatever u wanna call them. i'll reconnect the module under the hood but leave the connector disconected behind the glove box and see what happens.
does taping up the connector actually do anything? theres no pressure switch or anything on the connector so i cant see putting tape over the connector doing anything except keeping debris out of the connector.
or maybe im confusing parking lights with DRL's? are they the same bulb? and does this disable parking lights? the bulb stays on with every combination of e-brake on/off, in park, in neutral. only thing is i cant look at my headlights from the drivers seat while driving, but i put it in drive with the brakes on in my garage with a mirror set up and they were still on. even took my brakes off a second and they didnt go off. so while in drive rolling forward, they still shine.
If you pull the e-brake the DRL should go out, the parking lights are the switch on the steering column in front of the gauge cluster. The DRL are your Low Beam lights but at a lower voltage until you turn the low beams on. Reconnect the harnesses for all driving lights and start here.
yea havent had chance to re connect the one under the hood. but the DRLs definitely stay on with the e-brake on. and upon close inspection last night, the passenger side in really really dim but still on. driver side on full tilt. the lower volatge would explain this but then im still lost as to why they are still on in the first place. i'll be removing them completely when i DIY my headlights, but i want to make sure theres no current going to them before i do that.
To confirm that you see the low beams on but much dimmer than with the switch on? Or is it the bulb between the headlights/turn signal?
