I'm wondering if it is a good idea to flush the power steering fluid myself instead of paying the dealer almost $200.00 to do it. I'm new to owning a WRX so I didn't know if that was as simple as most vehicles or is it something I should leave to the pro's? Any advise? Or is it oh hell no! Take it to the dealer!
When you look down to Steering & Suspension there is no requirement to replace in 132,000 miles, so it's not a required service. If you want it done anyway I'd definitely do it yourself.
From someone who work for a stealership, yes they do charge a crazy amount for it. You can most likely do it yourself, but along the lines of what AllExtinct said, check it yourself, if its dirty it may need changing. Ive only been at my job for 2 weeks and Ive seen things...horrible things... fol Ive seen some super dirty fluid that really does need to be changed.
