Custom 10" sub enclosure

Just thought I'd post some pics of my custom sub enclosure. Takes me about 24 hrs to make one of these considering the drying times and all. Enjoy the pics.

Looks good man,nice and clean.
Kinda a small enclosure for a 10", does is hit decent bass
I was thinking about trying to customize the molding in the trunk to fit around my box rather than build a box itself.
Thanks for sharing Man.

No, its just enough room. I used every inch of space I could. The trunk hinge comes within a 1/2 inch of the enclosure when opening/closing the trunk. The MTX sub is rated at 400 watts / 225 rms and my MTX amp is 600 watts / 300 rms. I don't even have it bridged and the bass hits really hard. A friend of mine who has three 15's in his Chevy Caprice was suprised by my one 10. I'm sure my Kenwood deck has a lot to do with it as well.

Is that enough airspace for that sub? Looks like solobaric kinda space.

There's plenty....if I had to guess its probably more room than the stock sub enclosure you can get from Subaru. Although is not really deep it is pretty wide.

Did you dynamat the rear fender? Does it rattle that panel?

Yeah I tried to glass a few times and ended up making a mess with some fair results. Far from perfect. !Laugh!

Thx...actually I got the trunk mat and all weather mats for free. Had a situation at the dealership where I complained to the General Manager.

Only rattle I had was the stupid plastic piece on the rear shelf inside the car. Had a small piece of rubber laying around that I wedged in one of the holes that's visible on the bottom side in the trunk...no more rattles so far. I plan on adding sound deadening material at some point.

I recently upgraded my trunk. Took me a week to finish my new setup but it was well worth it. The center raises up to gain access to the spare tire. The side covers come off revealing the jack (left side) and tools (right side). Since I no longer need the custom sub shown in the original op I will probably start a f/s thread for it....enjoy

Finally installed my speaker grille

what did you use to make the trace of the truck. i made floor level cut out of the carpet(i just traced the carpet onto the wood) so i could mount a single 12in box on instead of drilling into the cars metal, but i would like do something set up like you have.
