I read somewhere that you can use a dual cupholder from the Forrester that mounts to the back of the WRX console - I can't find the info again - I don't know if this will fit with the armrest extension. Anyone?????

Yea it will fit with the arm extension and cup holders go in the back.

Sit in the backseat and lok at the back of the console in the center. There is a blank plastic filler plate. Go to and you can order the Forrester cupholder from there. I think the link Tut gave you has the Subaru part # which you could take to the local dealer and have him order it for you.

Just note it only comes in gray. It doesn't look bad though. I have the extended armrest. It sits up top of the console and is nowhere near where the cupholder goes. It will not interfere with it at all.

Thanks man, I'm sick of water bottles rolling around in the backseat. I'm going to have my dealer match the price and order it. I have seen posts about painting gauge pods to match, so I'm assuming the same method & color will work for the cupholder.

PS - how do you like the Valentine One - worth the $$$ ???

passport 8500

Yeah it should be a similar process to paint. I have left it gray and it looks OK. You can hardly notice it.

Oh yes the V1 is worth the $$$. I have detected speed traps up to 2 miles away on Ka band. It is the best detector out there for detection ability. It has the most range in distance and field of "vision". Especially being the only model available with a rear sensor!

Spend the extra $100 for the V1 over the Passport it's worth it!

I just gotta ask while you're on the subject of radar detectors, what is the purpose of sensing behind you? ### cops can't follow you with their radar gun, even to the sides doesn't make any sense.

No, they can't take radar from behind, but they can pace you, and most of them leave their car-mounted radar on.

Please don't anyone waste your $$$ on the cupholder. It barely holds a cofee cup, and forget about a bottled water (or a beer). It's useless.

I also got my Valentine One - worth every penny, just be careful about instant-on radar. I'm surprised though how many cops drive around with their radar guns on all the time. - Good to know when they are in the vicinity to slow down. I'm sure that the $400 investment has saved me a ticket already ( in NJ, a ticket costs $1000 by the time you get done with ins. surcharges for 3 years)

Have you seen this about POP Mode? Interesting!

To clear up the rear radar feature... I've had a friend get pulled over after he passed a cop and he "gunned" from behind.

Plus, I dunno about other states, but I know that the NY "interceptor " patrol cars have 3 standard radar guns. One mounted in the rear, one mounted in the front, and a handheld radar gun.
