Exclamation Cleared Headlights Question

I've helped my friend clear his headlights using the oven technique, but I was wondering if it can be done with a Heat gun?

It would seem easier doing it in an over in my head since it's evenly heated all around. A heat gun would take some time, and doesn't gaurentee you won't miss a spot and give you trouble when you try to take it apart... or put it back together for that matter. 200 deg f at 10 minutes is a lot!

Do it in the oven - safer and easier. Heat gun, if not used properly might even melt some of the plastic.

i cleared my headlights by breaking the orange inside then getting the pieces out. It was a bitttch. I tried the hairdryer and it was also very hard and risky.

... you don't have to break anything. The turn signal is unscrewed out while the parking and side marker is "unclipped" out. Your life would have been much easier using an oven and some oven mits.
