Bugeye - shift light & clock not working - where to start?

Hi got a JDM bugeye sti hatch recently ...

the clock is not working

the shiftlight does not come on and has no beep

when i turn the shiftlight knob adjuster it beeps loudly

- i have pulled out the clock hatch the wires seem attached but where do i trace the electricals for the shift light?

the only mods done is some catback exhaust and an alarm - the previous owner was kind to the engine/drivetrain and hopeless with the rest ... even butchered the hatch door close sensor

Aftermarket alarms are notorious for messing with the electrical in cars, shouldn't be much different than yours.

You checked the obvious already on the clock?

Have you checked the bulb for the shiftlight? The beep works, I'd start with that.
