Autometer Boost/Vac Gauge

I'm going to be getting a gauge set for my "04" but I'm having trouble finding where to hook the gauge up to. Everybody's saying something different. Does anyone know where to hook the vacuum line for the gauge up to?

Hook it up to the small hose that is coming off your bypass valve. I'm trying to find a photo to help you, but not coming up with anything....

Oh yeah just throw away that crappy nylon tubing and fittings that came with it. Get some 1/8" black vacuum line like shown in my picture. I made a brass tee as shown with barbs on all three sides and I got a brass barb to go onto the back of the gauge itself. That way you don't have to mess with crush fittings.

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Thanks. Where did you get the brass T and barbs?

I got all of the pieces from Lowe's & Home Depot. I found that Lowe's had more of a selection. Basically the tee is made up of 4 pieces. Here's a quick illustration (I only have MS Paint at work ). The center, "body", of the tee is a 1/4" all female fitting, although it could be male as well just get barbs to fit accordingly. As for the barbs you'll need 2 1/4" barbs, and 2 1/8" barbs. On the back of the gauge you may have to do some adapting as the threads are finer. The Autometer gauge comes with a couple of adapters that, if I recall correctly, work perfectly. Oh and depending on where you are mounting it, the barb sticks out a bit. I mounted mine in a cup on the steering column where the stock one would be.

If you have anymore questions, or if that didn't make sense just ask away....

Oh yeah be sure to use teflon tape on the threads so you don't get leaks. Once I switched to these fittings and the black hose the gauge reacts instantaneously to any throttle input.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to take advantage of this help. Those nylon tubes are so damn flimsy.

You know what's really embarassing? I'm a graphic designer! !Cry! I normally would've used illustrator but here at work I only have MS Paint. God I hate it.
